The couple can get their privacy in their own house in nuclear families whereas you cannot get your privacy in a joint family. People can live their own way and can do whatever they want to. There are no such boundaries set by the elders to follow. Support Network – There are more hands to help in work at home or in the houses. When we talk about the advantages and disadvantages of the nuclear family, then financial stability is one of the strongest points in the nuclear family. One can be financially strong because of limited expenses.
There is less number of people in the nuclear family and hence less expenses. You cannot have a strong financial stability if you are the only person who is earning in a joint family. Someone to look for you, feeling of belonging, feeling of not being alone in the world and stronger bond and love. The elders restricts youngsters not to do certain tasks because they think this is not good for them. But today’s generation is very smart. They know what is good and bad for them and have enough analytical power so they don’t like to restrict themselves.
Instead, they want their freedom so that they can do and achieve whatever they want in their life. For the most part, this is not a bad thing. Like all changes in society, it has its perks and its downfalls. This makes it unnecessary to live in the same home as them.
Facebook is much more convenient. Single-parents have been seen more often than not within the past few decades because it is common and tolerated now. It is too isolated and unconnected to elicit support or assistance during need or crisis. Its limited size poses practical problems for child rearing and care, more so when the mother works outside.
Children grow up with care, love and affection from grand parents, uncles, aunts, cousins etc. This strengthens stability in larger society too. This means that each adult is responsible for helping to raise all the children in the group even if they’re not biologically connected. A sense of moral support is always there. Since there are more people, you can share your problems, grief’s etc. Since children stay with elders since childhood, they are more mannered, respect others and become more responsible. There is too much of intrusion.
